Dear PSJCers, For the last 18 days, we joined Israelis, Jews - TopicsExpress

Dear PSJCers, For the last 18 days, we joined Israelis, Jews around the world and people of good conscience across the globe in praying for the quick and safe return of 3 Israeli teenagers kidnapped while hitchhiking home from yeshiva in the West Bank. Tragically, the time for that prayer is over, and we must come together in a different way now as their bodies have now been found in a shallow grave just north of Hebron. We at PSJC join the entire Jewish people in mourning the senseless murder of these three Israeli teens, Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach. There are no words to describe this devastating loss. We grieve with their families who have lost so much, and we pray that they know no more sorrow. At this moment of profound sadness for so many, we pray that God will offer comfort to their families and to the entire People of Israel among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. I have just learned of a NYC Community-Wide Memorial Service for the Three Israeli Teens, zl Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 Doors Open: 7:00 PM /Program begins: 7:30pm The Jewish Center 131 West 86th Street (Between Columbus and Amsterdam) This is being co-sponsored by JCRC of NY, UJA-Federation of NY, NY Board of Rabbis and others. May the memories of Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrach be for a blessing. May this horrible cycle of violence and the loss of so many innocent lives come to an end. And may theirs be the last deaths due to anger, hatred and violence on this holy soil. Rabbi Carie Carter
