Dear Parent/Guardian of Bruins Colts Players, If your child is - TopicsExpress

Dear Parent/Guardian of Bruins Colts Players, If your child is about to start training to play American Football or Gridiron I assure you it will be a unique experience, this game is not like any other kind of football. The Logan City Gridiron Football Club (LCGFC) knows team sports can lead to friendships that will last a lifetime and we encourage the families of the players to participate so they feel part of the team as well. Being a member of our club, under strong safe guidance will allow your child to develop as a player within the team and as a person. If successful the opportunity to play for Queensland or even Australia is quite real and very acheivable for the right players. I would like you to know some information before we start playing the 2014 season: The training season will begin in April or May, 2 nights a week from 7pm to 9pm, before those dates although, we may run some informal sessions on Sunday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm, all training dates will be posted on the facebook page. LCGFC requires payment in full prior to beginning the playing season proper which will start in August 2014. Our club always welcomes volounter help so if you would like to be part of your childs football experience please approach the coach to find out how you can be part of our team. During the season we will be fund raising and we will be looking for your financial assistance. Please be aware this game is a contact sport and injuries can occur from time to time. Our players will be trained using Gridiron Queensland; Gridiron Australia & NCAA approved methods. While we instruct using safe playing methods it will be the player who must play according to those safe methods: • If a player chooses not to use safe playing methods or chooses not to use the skills taught during the pre-season that player may be removed from the field. • If I or any of our coaches removes a player from the field, we may not allow the player to finish that game. • At the next training session we will instruct the player in the special teams program until such time that we feel the player can participate without excessive risk of serious injury to himself or anyone else. We instill in our players a high standard of behavior which is part of our clubs philosophy. Our players can banter with other players on the field but they are not permitted to get into any kind of argument (right or wrong) with officials, coaches, other players or spectators. Fighting on or off the field can result in cancellation of membership. Unless our player is a permanent Captain they are not allowed to even talk to officials about decisions made on the field. Our club has a long and successful history achieved due in part to the personal standards set for all members. If you disagree or feel uneasy about anything regarding the coaching, training or playing this sport please do not hesitate to approach me to discuss it. Yours Sincerely Bruins Colts Coach Peter Jardine 0417 070 166 coachjardine@gmail
