Dear Parents / Carers and Community Members, Today an email was sent regarding Independent Public Schools (IPS) and the new process for applying for IPS status. Charthouse PS, with staff and community support, applied for IPS status in 2012 and were unsuccessful. There appears to be support to apply again but as we have had some staff and community changes, we would like to determine whether a new application would still be supported. The following link to an anonymous one question survey provides you with an opportunity to indicate your support: https://surveymonkey/s/8W63H78 Please note; the process involves us initially putting in an Expression of Interest by the 6th December which demonstrates that there is staff and community support. We (a staff member and I) would then participate in 3 workshops over 5 months in 2014 which focus on building our capacity around the 3 criteria to achieve IPS status. At the end of this development program, we (a staff member and I) present a half hour presentation to 3 members of the IPS team. Subsequently, we are informed whether we have been successful in the next IPS intake. The transition program would then begin in August next year. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
