Dear Parents/Guardians: I would like to personally invite you to attend our upcoming “Extreme Collaboration Via Technology” event which will take place on November 19, 2013, at Big Bear Middle School beginning at 6:00 p.m. This event will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about how educational technology can be used to increase collaboration. A highly respected educator and technology advocate, Roland Garcia, will be our main presenter. Roland has been a classroom teacher for 15 years, teaching educational technology courses at San Diego State University and National University. He has also served as a technology coordinator and director for seven years and has a passion for being a progressive educator. During this workshop, Roland will demonstrate the following: Make learning a deeper more meaningful and richer experience on student devices, regardless of brand, operating system or model. Empower students to collaborate with peers and teachers and build their 21st Century skills. Remove barriers and make it easier for teachers to reach students with mobile devices for a deeper collaborative experience Show how teachers and students can access lesson content I highly recommend you bring a laptop computer or mobile device which will allow you to be interactive and engaged during the presentation.
