Dear Parents, Students and Staff: It has been brought to the attention of high school personnel the possibility of a massive student walk-out scheduled for Friday, May 16th. The District supports the right of students to express their views and opinions, the District does not endorse mass student walkouts. Students who do not report to school on Friday, May 16, 2014, or leave campus without permission, and return to school without presenting a valid absence excuse, are violating District policies and state law. Students who violate the school attendance rules will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with District and school rules and policies. Please speak with your child about the importance of attending school. Share with him or her the potential risks to their safety, as well as disciplinary consequences if they do not attend, or leave school without proper authorization. Maira J. Ambriz Superintendent
