Dear Parents and Friends, I am thrilled to announce Camp Mendocino’s 2014 military session: Project Noyo! Camp Mendocino is a program of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, and has been serving youth for over 80 years. We have a majestic 2,000 acre camp nestled in the heart of the redwood forest. At Camp Mendocino youth learn respect for others and themselves and are given opportunities to learn, grow and succeed. Through our outdoor education programs, like gardening and environmental education, children are taught respect and appreciation for the natural environment. Camp Mendocino has been providing a military session for seven years. The Project Noyo session (June 30 – July 8) was developed in response to the need for increased support for military children. This session will provide a safe, fun and therapeutic healing environment where these young people can maintain healthy and connected relationships with other military youth and build a sense of community. Plus, they will participate in activities specifically designed for military youth, outdoor education, and have nine days of fun! 2014 Project Noyo session: June 30-July 8 Registration Deadline: June 2 Camp Fee: $200 per camper Camper ages: 7-18 years old Criteria: youth with parents/guardians who are active duty, veterans, or reservists from any branch of the US Military Register online at campmendocino.org.
