Dear Pen, Paper and Computer, I apologize for not giving you the attention you deserve. I lost my way and was focusing on or consumed with other distractions. Thats stopping. Im returning to what I love most and thats putting words on paper. All I ever wanted to be was a writer and Ive been given that opportunity over and over. I wont let it pass me by or leave me behind ever again. Sometimes I take this gift to write and it is that for granted and I need not do that. I love you so much. I love words, the power of them and how they can change a life. Writing has helped me escape, explore, experience, experiment, open up, share, tell the truth and it has saved my life. I have been reading letters that I have saved from readers that have been touched by my stories, that remind them of people they know or themselves, that feel as though the characters are there homies and want to know when will I start writing again and why havent I written. After going through the emails post etc it touches my heart to know that people appreciate and love reading my words just as much as I love putting them together. Its taking some time because I am experimenting with my writing changing my genre and studying up on writing. You have to study what you love in order to be great at it. Just because you can put words together does not make you a writer well at least in my opinion it does not, especially one of quality. The business of writing has changed immensely since my first self published book in the early 2000s. Wow, its been that long and just like any business, there is always stuff, how books are presented, promotion, accepted covers, language...its all changed. Some say for the better. I have moments when I feel that way and moments when Im not to sure. Anyway, the time has come for me to put words on paper again and Im going to be patient with myself while doing so.
