Dear Pharma graduates and Post graduates, There are 430 vacancies of Food Safety Officers (FSO) through UP Public Service Commission, Allahabad. But candidates with degree in pharmacy or PG in pharmacy degree are not eligible for this post. The eligibility criteria includes almost all basic science degrees, Medical degree & various other degree except degree in Pharmacy. The qualification for the Food Safety Officers according to new Food Safety and Standard Act and Rules is as follows: A Bachelors degree in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or Bio-technology or Oil Technology or Agricultural Science or Veterinary Sciences or Bio-Chemistry or Microbiology or Post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry or Degree in Medicine from a recogniseduniversity, or any other equivalent/recognised qualification notified by the Central Government. So, I dont know how they have decided the qualification for FSO. I have a question that what are the equivalent degrees notified by central Government. I have also filed the RTI, but their answer is that we are not eligible, we are only eligible for Drug Inspector (Drug Controller Officer, DCO).
