Dear Principals: It seems that this year more than any other there has been a demand from families for test preparation services heading into the high school placement tests. Knowing that some of the existing test prep services on the market can be both costly and time consuming, St. Edward High School has designed a FREE 2.5 hour test prep seminar that we will host on September 23 at 6:00 p.m. The seminar is open to both boys and girls. Ninety students registered for the seminar on the day we announced it, and we can only accommodate 120 students. If you have any students who are interested in participating, please ask that they RSVP as soon as possible so they do not miss out. Information on the seminar is below: Success in Standardized Testing Seminar High School Placement Test (HSPT) Date: Tuesday, September 23 Time: 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Cost: FREE to all 8th grade boys and girls An RSVP is required. Please RSVP at sehs.net/testprep. The seminar will include three rotations designed to maximize success on the HSPT, which St. Edward offers as its Admission Test. Test Taking Strategy Presented by Dr. Frank OLinn, Principal Approaches to HSPT Math & Quantitative Skills Presented by Mr. Zach Mertens, St. Edward Math Faculty Approaches to HSPT Language, Reading & Verbal Skills Presented by Mr. Mark Urban, St. Edward English Faculty Students will come away from the seminar with skills for successful test taking and an understanding of the types of questions presented on the HSPT and successful approaches for answering those questions.
