Dear Professors and researchers, Recently, Elseviers Scopus provided new journal metrics or indicators to measure the influence of journals such as (1) IPP (Impact per Publication), (2) SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper) and (3) SJR (SCImago Journal Rank). I will deliver a talk titled . This talk is intended to provide with definitions of these bibliometric new indicators used to measure the influence of journals, as well as to guide the audience on their uses and limitations. In addition, I will discuss Article-Level Metrics (ALMs), which are a new approach to quantifying the reach and impact of published research. Also, the talk also examine the h-index, which is a measure of an individual’s performance as well as discuss the Impact Factor, which is currently the bibliometric indicator most commonly used by researchers and research management. In addition, we explain the other metrics included in Thomson Reuters’ Journal Citation Reports, such as the Immediacy Index, Cited Half-life and Eigenfacto.
