Dear Prospective Miss or Teen Contestant, Pageant Season is here!!! We would love to have you compete in our pageants, (YES, THAT IS PLURAL!!!) We have exciting news!!! Our pageant family had expanded last year and now we have changed names and locations!!! We are now offering 6 titles to the Miss Mississippi Pageant and 6 titles to the Outstanding Teen pageant!!! We have changed a few things this year!!! We are HAVING A HUGE PAGEANT WEEKEND!!! Our First Pageant will be held on Saturday October 18th in Vicksburg at Warren Central High School! We will crown Three Miss Winners and Three Teen winners. The theme for the show is VOGUE- HIGH FASHION!!! This means for opening number- You can dress in what you think a Supermodel would wear, you can be outrageous with this, you will not be judged and the music will be fast, fun and you can have gloves, hats, sunglasses, and as many accessories as you would like, HAVE FUN WITH THIS !!!! The crowns given out that day will be Miss North Central Mississippi, Miss Delta Blues, Miss Pride of the South and their teen sister crowns, THEN on SUNDAY we will turn around and give out three more crowns, we will give out Miss Vicksburg, Miss Red Carpet City , Miss Belle of the Bayou as well as their teen sister crowns. Our Theme that day is “This is going to be the BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE, It is a fast paced show with Music that makes you smile, opening number outfit can be a pair of jeans, white shirt and any kind of shoes that make you smile!!! SO have fun with it too!!!!! Three years ago we introduced the People’s Choice Award and we want all of your friends to know that we will be selling tickets before the pageant and during the pageant at intermission. So get your friends to vote you people’s choice, these tickets are $1.00 a vote and with those tickets we will draw 2 winners and give them a $50.00 Gift certificate to Wal-Mart!!!! Also this year we will be giving awards for overall interview, overall talent, overall swimsuit, Spirit of Miss America (This goes to the young lady who best exemplifies the four points of the crown: Scholarship, Style, Service and Success), The Wayne J. Sutter Director’s Award (who gets all their Paperwork in First and People’s Choice. We will arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 for orientation, have a brief rehearsal and try to have you out of there by 10:00 to 10:30. I am still working on where the interviews will be held, so just remember we will tell you that the morning of the pageant and pass out the directions to that location. I always tell girls to bring an EXTRA copy of your paperwork, it never hurts to have one copy in case yours did not download from our website. HOWEVER, WITH THAT SAID PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO AHEAD AND SUBMIT YOUR PAPERWORK ONLINE ASAP. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT, as most of you MISS CONTESTANTS KNOW, Miss America has partnered with Children’s Miracle network and requires each miss contestant to make a $100.00 donation per pageant, NOW let me explain the good thing about competition in a possible triple crown, You ONLY pay a $100.00 for the whole night!!! YEAH, that is a great thing for you, YOU will qualify for all three titles on the first day and possibly all three on the second day for the $100.00 donation!!!! THIS donation does not apply to the teen contestants!!!! Miss contestants PLEASE BE PRE-REGISTERED ON THE CMN WEBSITE, YEARS AGO ANYBODY COULD SEE THAT YOU WERE COMPETING IN WHAT PAGEANTS, NOT HAPPENING ANYMORE, SO GO AHEAD AND GET REGISTERED!!!! Remember to bring me your proof that you have paid. This is for my sake and yours too, IF you cannot get the computer to take your donation, please bring a check made out to Children’s miracle network the morning of the pageant, I MUST HAVE PROOF OR A CHECK MADE TO THEM FOR YOU TO COMPETE!!!!!! We will begin interviews shortly after lunch, we won’t know until we see how many girls are in the pageant exactly what time we will begin, we will draw your number out of a hat prior to the day of the pageant and give you your interview time at the rehearsal that morning, ONCE YOU GET THROUGH WITH YOUR INTERVIEW, GO STRAIGHT BACK TO WARREN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RUN THROUGH YOUR TALENT TWICE, PLEASE GO IMMEDIATELY SO WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET EVERYONE THROUGH AND RESPECT EACH OTHER’S TIME!!! TEENS- You are on the same schedule as the Miss Contestants, they only difference is your $100.00 fee is a Sponsorship fee to help pay for Scholarships. Bring your checks or Cash to the pageant that morning at orientation. We ask that your talent not exceed one minute and thirty seconds for the Miss Contestants and Teens. WE DO ASK FOR YOU TO HAVE THE TRACK WITH YOU WITH YOUR NAME ON IT, HAVE TWO OF THEM AND IT MUST BE CUT WHERE YOU WANT IT TO BEGIN AND WHERE YOU WANT IT TO END!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!! THIS IS BECAUSE WE WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY WITH YOUR TALENT PERFORMANCE AND THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE THIS!!! We will also have our staff for the dressing room, so you will have help and there will be no one allowed back in the dressing room except for contestants and STAFF!!!! Dressing rooms are never as big as we need them to be so please remember to bring everything but not lots of bulky items. If you have a full length mirrors you want to bring we will allow those in the dressing room with you.
