Dear Raleigh North Carolina, Im sitting here having lunch with my family looking at all the love that is pouring out of Facebook in regards to the last Stuntmen shows at Sadlacks Heroes. Its impossible to completely hold in the tears, this is the definition of bittersweet. What a perfect storm it was some 10 or 12 years ago, when we all came together at that anomaly of a sandwich shop, beer joint, vagrant pit stop, where the most rabid and voracious original music fans I have ever encountered gather. Everyone we picked up or lost along the way will forever be a part of our family. Hazel asked why I was crying and I said because I’m really happy. She asked why and I said, “Sometimes when we are really happy we cry. “ She said, “Ya, me too, can I have a lollipop.” Sure why not. I’ll have one too and celebrate a job well done by all you good folks and by the band you love. A band that pulled themselves out of their everyday grind to try and show you how much they love you. WELL DONE EVERYONE! WELL DONE. See you again soon. (but not too soon, ouch!) P.S. If you see Jenn and Danny buy them a drink on us. It’s not easy, as a lot of you know, to have that many stinky Stuntmen flopped out around your house for three days. Also, it was a group effort but if Jenn had not pushed and pursued we may never have made it. Thanks Jenn! It was more than worth it.
