Dear Randall, I believe that the men and women in Congress - TopicsExpress

Dear Randall, I believe that the men and women in Congress should work for the people. Serving in Congress is a serious responsibility, not a free pass to enjoy luxurious perks while the taxpayers foot the bill. Elected officials should not treat Congress like a country club while hardworking Americans suffer. That’s why I am so disappointed that Congresswoman Walorski voted to keep her perks, such as first class airfare, while our government was shut down. She voted to shut down the government, putting the livelihoods of millions of Americans at risk and costing our economy an estimated $24 billion, all while her own salary was unaffected. Being elected to Congress does not mean that you are better than the hardworking people who elected you. You should not be entitled to special perks and luxurious privileges. That’s why I’m standing against these expensive benefits for members of Congress. Will you sign your name to show you stand with me? Click here to sign your name and show that you are against special perks for members of Congress. If I’m elected, I’ll work to end these special perks and remind Congress that they are elected to serve the people, not to receive costly benefits at the expense of the taxpayers.
