Dear Randall, Today, women in North Carolina have reason to celebrate. Just minutes ago, a federal court permanently blocked a demeaning ultrasound law under the First Amendment. The law required physicians to show women an ultrasound picture and describe the image in detail—a clear attempt to shame women out of the choice that they have every right to make. The law did nothing to improve women’s health and safety—and was a blatant effort by extremist politicians to interfere with a woman’s very personal decisions about her future and her family.
