Dear Residents, Balfour Beatty Communities would like to reiterate a few cold weather tips for maintaining your home as we move forward with the frigid temperatures and inclement weather expected in the coming days. Please remember to keep your heat set at a steady temperature, even when leaving your home for an extended period of time. This will help to maintain the indoor warmth with in you...r walls, floors and living area so your heating system will not have to run so long to re-heat your entire home should you decrease your thermostat temperature. Remember to let your faucets drip slightly as a preventative measure for frozen pipes. If you have had problems with pipes freezing before, please monitor them closely, try to keep those areas warm and flush your commodes periodically and drip, drip, drip your faucets. To our residents with attached garages, please remember to “CLOSE YOUR GARAGE DOORS” when not in use. This will help to keep out the cold air and wind that can circulate and enter into your living area. This tip may also help to prevent pipes from freezing that are installed in the garage area.
