Dear Retailers, The term Black Friday specifies and has always - TopicsExpress

Dear Retailers, The term Black Friday specifies and has always announced the day of the **post/after**- Thanksgiving sales. Your jump-starting the event robs the consumer, in general, from celebrating the spiritually patriotic holiday with family in full. Certainly you realize the actual stress this will cause to both the immune system of the consumer(s), as well as to the families, especially to those whose loved ones have travelled to spend this day with loved ones who will end up excusing themselves early in order to best benefit from your limited markdowns..... In order to satisfy the hopes and expectations of loved ones and co-workers on or for what has become a highly commercialized December day...... I ask you to step-back and devote your Thanksgiving Day generosity to the traditional purpose of family, harmony, and Thanksgiving, encouraging people to enjoy their loved ones, and/or to offering service to those in need of companionship, of a warm meal, of hope. Also, please extend the same to your employees, allowing for a much needed rest or time devoted to that which satisfies their souls, such as family, entertaining, fellowship, serving, etc. (Plus, a more-rested consumer and worker will ultimately produce better shoppers and employees, this boosting sales, dont you think? Thank you for your sensitivity to those who keep you in business. A Concerned Citizen
