Dear Rich, The national economy is recovering from the Great - TopicsExpress

Dear Rich, The national economy is recovering from the Great Recession, but in Wisconsin we continue to lag behind other states. And in Washington the Tea Party extremists are refusing to lift a finger. They blocked an extension of unemployment insurance for people desperately looking for work. They oppose increasing the federal minimum wage to something that might actually help workers make ends meet. In short, they’re standing in the way of our efforts to help the middle class in America get back on their feet. This is an election year -- and members of the Tea Party and their special interest allies are going to do everything in their power to prevent democrats from getting anything done in 2014. Democratic priorities - like extending unemployment benefits and raising the minimum wage - improve people’s lives, and are a threat to extreme Republicans who prefer the status quo. And if we’re going to stop them, we need to mobilize now. This month’s fundraising deadline is only a week away. Can you contribute $5 or more right now to make sure that we hit our $12,000 goal before January 31st? We don’t believe in do-nothing politics. Tammy went to Washington to get things done. She works to build a “Made in Wisconsin” economy. She’s focused on investing in innovation, science and research, strengthening our manufacturing sector, and providing small businesses with the opportunities they need to grow. But we saw first-hand how hard special interests will fight (by which I mean, how much money they will spend) to get their way. And even though Tammy isn’t up this year, it’s still networks like ours that have to fight back. Give $5 or more so that we can hit our $12,000 goal before January 31. Thank you for your continued support. Rose Arntsen Finance Director Tammy Baldwin for Senate
