Dear SEIU family and SEIU Millennials team, I am transitioning out of my current role as the Millennial Program Coordinator to continue working toward SEIUs vision of a just society in a different capacity; a society where all workers are valued and people are respected, where all families and communities thrive and where we leave a better and more equal world for generations to come. I still believe that accelerating the development of youth and emerging leaders is essential to organizing for change/long-term movement-building and so I will be taking on the responsibility for the stewardship of the Youth Engagement Fund at the Democracy Alliance. I feel lucky to have worked with SEIU locals on the 2012 Convention, the launch of 14 local Millennial Committees in the U.S. and Canada and Freedom Summer among other joint efforts. Congratulations on the insight, commitment and shared sense of purpose you bring to the hard work of building the next generation of SEIU leaders. It is unrivaled in the progressive movement. The local Millennial Advisory Group is more than capable of accelerating SEIUs focus on youth and emerging leaders into 2016, 2020 and beyond working with my yet to be named successor.I sincerely thank you for entrusting me with stewardship of the Millennial Program and look forward to the next exciting phase in its history.
