Dear Seattle KZB Family! Many of you know that I had the very pleasure and honor of attending a week-long, 40 hour intensive Kizomba and Semba training with Mestre Petchu and Venassa this past week. To be open, I typically try to keep my personal business out of the public eye, but today I feel different. Petchu and Vanessa’s visit to Seattle this weekend trumps my preference for selected anonymity…. :) Words cannot express what my time with them meant/ means to me and how I was influenced. Petchu and Vanessa’s impact enhanced MUCH MUCH more than just my dance. They touched my life and parts of me that I have yet to fully uncover. Some highlights were a home cooked meal everyday, their unwaivering attempt to ensure that no questions went unanswered, their awesome sense of humor y incredible dance chemistry as well as a deep and thorough grasp of Angolan culture and history (including Kizomba, Semba, Kuduro, and other forms of music and dance). My hope is that you take full advantage of their visit to Seattle. If you are unable to attend a weekend workshop, please consider one of the evening classes during the following week. You will not be disappointed! Do not let time or money be an issue- find a way to attend at least one class and allow them to touch your life as they have done with so many others around the world. Feel free to follow up with me personally and ask any questions you might have about my time with these Masters of Kizomba/ Semba. I hope to share more with everyone in the near future! peace!! -nephew Sobrinho de Kizomba
