Dear Shane (and everyone else): My goodness what a treasure - TopicsExpress

Dear Shane (and everyone else): My goodness what a treasure trove you have there.. As I was going through your HUGE collection, it made me stop and ponder a few TVO shows that I would fondly.. or not so fondly remember (mostly because I would watch the bad shows to get to the next show I DID want to watch... such as RAAI). 1. The Edison Twins- That ménage Et- Troi of Intelligence.. okok forget that Sunny Van Beullow kid that was on the show.. I can distinctly remember a Toronto High Park/Roncesvales/Mimico feel to the show. ...this show I would mostly tolerate* just so I could secretly watch Todays Special.. (yes I was 13 when I watched Todays Special) but it was sooooo cheezy I had to watch it..I can even remember when Nerene Virgin did a national call-in show on CBC Newsworld once in 1995 and I called into the show while she was taking calls just so I could tell her how much I looooved her in Todays Special.. (totally ignoring the subject for why I was calling.. lol.. Im weird) 2. Fraggle Rock.. This doesn;t realy ccount as a TVO show.. and not so much I that I actually watched the show all the time, but I distinctly remember living on Oakwood Avenue in Toronto as a kid and going to my friend Shawns house.. who lived around the corner from me.. and he told me his neighbor was the guy who did the theme for Fraggle Rock (I assume Phillip Balsam) and how his Radio Shack Intercom could pick up this guys intercom (because he evidently had the exact same model from Radio Shack) and he and his brother could sometimes hear him and his wife playing hide and seek?!!? together over the intercom presumably because it shared the same frequency?? **This is rumor when I was 11 years old and not to be taken seriously) 3. Parlez Moi? -Shane 60 episodes out of 90? Thats crazy! I only have 12 and I thought I had a lot. Parlez Moi was one of those shows that you found yourself actually learning French.. and was entertaining at the same time. I know the guy who played Sol the clown died sometime in like 2001-2004 but that was a very interesting and entertaining TVO show to watch. Funny how a lot of the TVO shows from the 70s-80s always had those large block letters or numbers on the black background.. it was one of the many trademarks of TVO shows..
