Dear Sir/Madam, REF: UDO AHAIWE FOR GOVERNOR CONSULTATION LETTER - TopicsExpress

Dear Sir/Madam, REF: UDO AHAIWE FOR GOVERNOR CONSULTATION LETTER TO FACEBOOK FRIENDS AND GROUPS Let me begin by thanking the Admin, my friends in this group and the entire members of this formidable group. I have quite recently been added to this Group and I want to reach out to every member of this group and share the vision I have for Abia State with you. My name is Udo Ahaiwe, an aspirant for the Governor of Abia State in 2015 on the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA). I am from Umuejea village in Isiala Itu Autonomous community of Obingwa LGA, Abia State. I hold a BSc., MSc., and PhD (in view) in Biochemistry from Abia State University Uturu and Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike. I lecture at the Continuing Education Center of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. I have spent over 12 years molding a vision and designing a blueprint for the socio-economic development of Abia State (see comment below for link to my manifesto). After all these years I asked myself if circumstances exist in Abia State that will make our people BELIEVE POSSIBILITY of visionary political leadership that will inspire hope. I am convinced that there is never a time more needful for a visionary political leadership that inspires hope in Abia State than in 2015. Our generation seeks a nobler task of electing leaders who have the vision, the courage and the faith to inspire our people to greatness. Leaders who can show that it is possible to grow our own food here on our soil instead of depending on importation; Leaders who can rouse our engineers to build innovative technologies here in Abia State; leaders who can devise ways of harnessing our natural resources so that we can be respected in the world; leaders who can empower our local industries to make our own clothes, shoes, bags with bold inscription, “Made in Nigeria”; leaders who can empower us to build our roads ourselves without prostrating to foreign construction companies and paying them huge sums for things our engineers can do very well; leaders who can fund scientific research to find lasting solution to diseases and leaders who can stir us up to compete for a place in global information technology. This is the real change that this generation seeks. This is why I am running for the Governor of Abia State. I have a plan as the Governor of Abia State to invest in commercial mechanized agriculture; to build industries across our 17 LGAs to end urban and rural unemployment and stimulate our economic growth; to build public houses of one, two and three room apartments across the state to ease accommodation problem in Abia State; to build the best road network Nigeria will ever have here in Abia State to stimulate commerce and to make Aba the center of commercial activity in Africa. I have a plan to end corruption and embezzlement of public fund by government officials; to entrench a culture of accountability and transparency in government; to provide affordable quality education for every child in Abia State and ensure quality accessible healthcare for every Abian. I know there are those who don’t believe we can do this. There are those who will say they have heard these promises before but the greatest mistake our generation will make is to try the same old politicians in 2015 and expect a different result. 2015 must be a choice between vision and campaign promises; between change and status quo. I cannot secure this mandate without consulting with every stakeholder and all the segments of our state including my facebook friends and Groups to share this vision with you and to seek your support. We have, for the past many months carried this message to millions Abians and Nigerians who are now inspired to be part of this change. We have shown that our people are not looking for who will share money or distribute cups of rice to them but they are looking for honest and visionary leaders who have the courage and faith to bring out the best in us and move our state forward. Many of you have commented on my posts for the past one year. You have encouraged me; you have shared your ideas and your hopes with me. Sometimes you have asked critical questions that made me sit up and at other times you made comments that pierced my heart and remind me that I am not perfect even though I have never claimed to be. Today, barely one year to this historic election I can look to the future with confidence and say that we can make this change happen come 2015 because we are God’s people; we are God’s own state. After 16 years of failed promises, after 4 administrations of failed policies, this election is our only chance to say how we feel. I am aware of the financial requirements of an election like this. I do not claim to have stolen money stacked away for election neither do I intend to buy the mandate with money. I want run a campaign that every Abian- young, old, men, women, boy, girl- can contribute to so that all of us will share in the victory that God will give us in 2015. I seek political office not for the lust of acquiring power or wealth but for a great cause and a vision higher than the office I seek. That is why this campaign for visionary leadership must be supported and carried on not only to success but to an overwhelming success come 2015. We can do it. We will do it. Friends, we meet in an age of change and challenge. More than any other times in our history we have an opportunity to make this change happen in Abia State come 2015. As we approach the crucial election year we must choose the best candidate to lead our state. The old politicians will attempt to buy our conscience, play on our fears and exploit our differences as Ukwa-Ngwa, old Bende or Ndi Ohuhu. That’s how they have always operated. That has always been their only strategy. But we know better today. Whether we are from Obingwa or from Bende or from Imo State, we all want the same thing- good governance, a better future for us, for our children and for generations to come. My candidacy is our best hope to build a new Abia State- a new Abia State of young visionary leaders that will glorify God and entrench the culture of good governance and transparence in our government; a new Abia State that will give this generation a voice in governance that has been denied them for the past 15 years; a new Abia State that will be the envy of every other state in Nigeria. All great and noble act is accompanied with great difficulties but we must not be found wanting in the courage to act because God is leading us. That’s why I want to be the Governor of Abia State come 2015. Finally I want to thank every member of this group. The debates you have carried on this page are bold and courageous. They not only indict the failed leadership of the old politicians but they inspire a visionary and courageous new generation leaders. The challenges of making change happen are enormous. We will have to knock on every door; we will have to travel long distances to speak with everyone. If we are ready to throw off our doubt and our fears; if we are willing to fight together and work together; if we are willing to bear the burden and believe possibility, then we will not just win this election in 2015; we will not just change Abia State; we will change Nigeria. I ask you now to support me for the Governor of Abia State. I ask for your endorsement. Support Udo Ahaiwe for Governor Abia State. Support change. BELIEVE POSSIBILITY. God bless you UDO AHAIWE
