Dear Sir/Madam: The friends and family of Jack Smith, along with the Rhawnhurst Athletic Association and Mary Kate’s Legacy are arranging a benefit in his honor. Jack suffers from a rare condition called Ectodermal Dysplasia; a rare genetic syndrome that is actually a group of about 150 disorders of the ectoderm, or outer layer of tissue, which fails to develop. This syndrome affects about one in 10,000, impacting such parts of the body as the skin, sweat glands, hair, teeth and nails. The emotional toll as well as the financial strain that this is taking on the Smith family has been devastating. We, their family and friends want to help the family through this trying time.
