Dear Society, The society held a meeting today (March 6th) at 5:00 PM in 324 of Roger Stout. We covered good grounds as we move forward. The society is excited about our upcoming elections on March 20th at 5:00 PM in 324 of Roger Stout. Although nominations were accepted today at the meeting, nominations will be accepted up until Midnight of March 14th (Friday). Nominations can be sent to Brett Kingrea ([email protected]) or Devon Muse ([email protected]). ANY NOMINATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER MIDNIGHT OF MARCH 14TH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS VALID NOMINATIONS. You may nominate one person of your choosing per position (including yourself); however, please do not nominate any individual for more than one position. There are five available executive positions; they are: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Public Relations, and Chairperson. The president of the Pre-Law Society of E.T.S.U. shall serve as head of the organization, work with other officers to set the agenda for each meeting, and set time/date for the officer meetings. The vice president shall serve as head of the organization in the absence of the president, run each Society meeting, and assist the President in matters pertaining to this organization. The Secretary/Treasurer shall keep minutes at organizational meetings and post them in a forum accessible to members of the organization as well as keep these forums up to date with meeting times and events. The Secretary/Treasurer shall also be responsible for all organizational bookkeeping and bank accounts. Public Relations Officer is responsible for working with the other officers to promote the Pre-Law Society at ETSU and all of the organizations events. Program Chairperson is responsible for arranging organizational events in combination with the other officers. All nominees will be announced via email and facebook on March 15th. Every nominee that is not already a member in good standing must pay their reduced member fee of $5 before the day of the election or at the meeting on the day of the election. Nominees must be in good academic standing and should prepare a 2-3 minute speech discussing why they are best suited for the position in which they are running for. Speeches can also be submitted via email to one of the previously mentioned addresses if the nominee is not able to make the meeting on the day of the election. Please note that a speech is not required for ones canadacy. These dues can be paid to Dr. Glennon or Dr. Keeler of the Political Science Department on the 3rd floor of Roger Stout.
