Dear South Africa Im fully aware that no-one can ride roughshod over the law and when people occupy land illegally then the law must take its course. We also have a long history of injustice and inequality in SA. In a SA context we need to be very sensitive when and how we evict people. Be humane. Hundreds of people are in a community hall. For how long? Where do they go after this? Can they study there? Where do they bath or clean themselves? Where do they eat? Its a multi-faceted problem, but I think the authorities need to think hard and long about their actions. Be humane. Saw a headline that Lwandle residents get 60 days reprieve. Your thoughts?
