Dear Student, Over the past several months there has been a lot of discussion in the media regarding the Ebola virus, which afflicts Western and Central African countries. While public health officials consider Ebola to pose little risk to Greece, individuals traveling to the countries where Ebola cases are occurring may be at risk for exposure. KEELPNO, MINISTRY OF HEALTH has issued a warning against traveling to countries where Ebola is active. Please refer to the instructions for traveling at the CDC website (cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/), the KELPNO website (keelpno.gr), or call Health Information for Travel (Travel medicine): +30.210.5212.193, 194, 195. We would like to reassure you that we consistently and vigilantly strive to safeguard the health and safety of our ACG community. For this reason the College has established an Infectious Disease Emergency Preparedness Plan to respond to any type of infectious disease outbreak. For ACG faculty, staff and students who have recently traveled to or are planning to travel to at-risk regions in Africa (currently Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Mali) please follow the protocol below: Call the ACG Health & Wellness Center within one day of your arrival in Greece. For 21 days after returning to Greece, you should: Check your temperature once daily and report any symptoms including headache, joint/muscle aches, weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain or lack of appetite from the first day of return from travel and for 21 days thereafter. What to do if you become ill: If you develop a fever above 38 o C and any of the symptoms listed above, DO NOT REPORT TO WORK OR SCHOOL and call your physician and then call the College.
