Dear Students, I am one of the committee members of Student - TopicsExpress

Dear Students, I am one of the committee members of Student Development and Campus Lifestyle (SDCL), representing UniKL Business School. So, what is SDCL? Hal Ehwal Mahasiswa (HEM) will soon be renamed as SDCL, comprising two major divisions called, Student Development (SD) and Campus Lifestyle (CL). Do click here to find out more: unikl.edu.my/web/unikl/campus-lifestyle. In late October 2013, SDCL plans to organize an award event to honor the best UniKL University Social Responsibility (USR) project. Each campus is required to submit one best USR project for this award. Now, my fellow students, you must be wondering what is USR project all about, … isn’t it? Well, here goes… To those who have taken the subject named “Business Ethics and Corporate Governance”, also coded as EIB20103, you guys must already be familiar with this term, i.e. Corporate Social Responsibility a.k.a. CSR. One of the easy-on-the-eye examples that I could think of when browsing the net woud be the Domino’s Pizza (Malaysia), since my students, including myself, love eating those pizzas for various reasons. (BTW my favorite is the Crunchy Thin Crust™ Beef Pepperoni. OMG, how could I entice you guys during this fasting month!!!). You may browse the following hyperlink to find out more: dominos.my/corporate/csr.aspx. Well, there you have it. USR works similarly like CSR. Now, as I mentioned earlier, SDCL plans to organize an award event. And, in any contest or competition, there must be rules, regulations, and guidelines. So, in order to honor you with an award, the USR projects will be evaluated based on the following ground rules: 1. The project must be new future activities. 2. There is (are) fund raising event(s) via entrepreneurial activities. 3. The project must have a big impact on many members in the community. 4. Each project consists of ten (10) students and two (2) advisors, i.e. one (1) Lecturer and one (1) SD personnel. 5. Independent judges will appointed (from outside of UniKL). 6. The winning team will have to present their project on the Award Ceremony Day that will be announced later. 7. Best USR project will be awarded with exciting prizes. As I was informed, there are twenty-four (24) clubs and associations registered currently with HEM. I would reckon that there must have been a few activities which you guys have done last year and during this first six months. I would also reckon that you have started or are planning ‘something’ new for the next few months or in the coming years. I urge all Presidents of the clubs and associations of UniKL Business School to liaise with me on your future activities. If you are interested to submit your USR project and win exciting prizes, kindly read and understand the following guidelines: 1. Briefly describe the project and the main activities of project (including the fund raising activities) 2. Briefly outline the steps to plan, to implement, and to complete the project. Indicate how much time spent in completing all aspects of the project. 3. Briefly describe the problems that would occur during the project. Explain how these problems would be handled. 4. Describe the impact that the project would have on the community or the people who would receive the benefits of the project. 5. Describe what would be learnt from the project 6. Describe future or follow-up projects that would benefit the community. 7. Supply many pictures for all the relevant phases of the project. If you are still keen to submit your project, the submission deadline of the USR project for each campus will be on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 5 pm. I welcome your valuable comments, and feedbacks. What are you guys waiting for? Get united, brainstorm and produce one brilliant idea for the USR project! Get yourselves organized and follow strictly the above guidelines. Help me help you transforming this Business School into the best Campus Lifestyle among UniKL institutes!!! Love, Mr. Adlin Isnin
