Dear TFA Bay Area community, The Understanding Language Initiative at Stanford is offering a massive open online course (MOOC) focused on helping educators better understand and facilitate high-quality student-to-student discourse in the context of the new standards. Participants in this free course will join a dynamic online community working together to improve students (especially ELLs) ability to engage in rich academic discourse across content areas and grade levels. The course is called Constructive Classroom Conversations: Mastering Language for College and Career Readiness, and registration is open right now. There are two versions, one for elementary and one for secondary teachers.
