Dear Thief: When I woke up this morning to hear that it was getting colder, I was annoyed. I really needed some perspective. So discovering my glove box open and my 4th generation iPod classic was gone it was really quite the blessing. Dont worry about the last 7 years Ive spent filling up those 40 gb with music that isnt all on my computer. Ive got the CDs (most of them anyway). The hard part is really going to be the time investment. I just found the same iPod on ebay for $20. I would have given you $30 not to steal it in the first place so that I wouldnt have to start from scratch. YOu must have really needed help to be out prowling through peoples cars in this weather. Something I did find interesting is that you didnt even attempt to take the Alpine deck out of my car, and the bootleg copy of Dookie remains in the visor with the White Stripes CD that is honestly scratched to hell and only plays Seven Nation Army these days. These treasures you left me certainly provide the perspective I needed. Just like backing out of the driveway realizing I need to add brake fluid when I was already late, not to mention knocking over the garbage can at daycare. I hope your day is going better than mine. I can hear all the they must have needed it more than yous and count your blessings, not your losses. So thank you for not coming into my home, harming my family, or stealing anything that would actually make for a productive insurance claim, or giving me a chance to use the shot gun that I havent fired in over 8 years. I hope you listen to the tracks on my old ass iPod and experience something new. Maybe Ill run into you at a concert and not knowing you, or you, me, Id say howd you hear of Frank Turner and youd say It was on this iPod I stole. What a potentially magical future we have!
