Dear Tribal Partners, I am pleased to inform you about FEMA - TopicsExpress

Dear Tribal Partners, I am pleased to inform you about FEMA Region IX’s first Whole Community Workshop in Oakland, CA on April 1, 2014. FEMA Region IX will host the workshop to prepare our partners for the America’s PrepareAthon! launch in late April 2014. America’s PrepareAthon! is a nationwide, community-based campaign for action to increase emergency preparedness and resilience. Twice yearly - through drills, group discussions, and exercises - America’s PrepareAthon! will provide a national backdrop for individuals, organizations and communities to prepare for local hazards, and practice actions to stay safe. The goals of America’s PrepareAthon! are to increase the number of citizens who: • Understand the hazards most relevant to their community; • Know the corresponding action to stay safe; • Practice a real-time behavior to increase their preparedness; and • Contribute to increased whole-community preparedness planning. Our National Preparedness Division would like to invite Tribal participants to this whole community hands-on workshop. Register via Eventbrite @ https://eventbrite/e/fema-region-ix-whole-community-preparedness-workshop-2014-tickets-10932478337 by March 26. Feel free to forward this invitation to any of those in your network that will find this workshop of value. If you have any questions, please contact Angela Nak Community Preparedness Officer via email at [email protected]. Thank you, Angela Angela S.
