Dear Trinity Friends, The Florida-Georgia district of the LCMS has partnered with Lutheran Hour Ministries to offer a really super outreach initiative for all of the congregations in our district. District President Walton and his staff are serious about our reaching others with the Good News of Jesus at a time when churches are shrinking and people in general have little interest in their relationship with God. So they are providing this program to us to give us the tools that we need to accomplish Jesus’ “Great Commission”. This is not just for church leaders, but for anyone in our congregation who would like to be better equipped for sharing and meeting the needs of others. Please don’t fall for Satan’s deception that either 1) you’re not good enough or the right type of person to do this, or 2) the church’s outreach board or some other secret group is really responsible for this, because neither are true. YOUR friends and coworkers are depending on YOU to be their ambassador for Jesus, not someone that they don’t know and doesn’t know them. Please, please, please make some time to attend at least one of these three sessions. All of them will be at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers (a short distance from Cape Coral) and the dates are: Session One: The Power of One—Sharing Christ One on One Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Session Two: The Power of Some—Sharing Christ as a Congregation Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Session Three: The Power of the Net—Sharing Christ Digitally Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. TO 3:00 p.m. You can find out more information and register yourself at: lhm.org/flgaoi/ Please let me know directly if you would like to go and if you were able to register yourself or need me to do it for you.
