Dear USI- WZ family members, Season’s Greetings from Dr. Kandarp Parikh! First of all let me take opportunity to wish you Happy New Year in advance and wish coming year will bring lots of happiness to all of us and academically we will all progress and achieve new heights. I thank you all for putting your faith in me and new council to serve the west zone. Under the able leadership of our president Dr.Ravindra Sabnis and very committed council members ,we will serve the society at our best . Let me share few announcements of interest to all of us: 1. We had very successful WZ supported Live operative workshop at Kolhapur “scissors to lasers “on 22-23th November 2014. More than 170 members attended and various urological procedures were demonstrated by eminent national faculty. WZ council congratulate Kolhapur urology society and Dr. Rahul Gune for marvelous work. 2. The next WZ supported program will be at Indore on 25-26th April 2015 organized by MP urology group. The topic is “Laparoscopy in Urology” Dr. Anil Bandi will be organizing secretary. I request all the members to actively participate in this meeting. 3. Our USI national conference will be from 4th-8th February 2015 at Ranchi. I wish members from WZ will participate in big numbers and present their work. 4. As you know, we have a tradition of organizing overseas meeting every year since last few years. This year council has decided for JAPAN as a venue and it will be somewhere in April 2015. We are working hard on fabulous travel plans and affordable package. Details will be sent to you by separate mail. We wish you will register for the trip well in advance to facilitate nice planning and last minute disappointment. 5. We are in process of updating our website and in few days we will have interactive website. 6. We are working hard for our silver jubilee annual zonal meeting at GOA from 10th-13th September 2015. Local organizing committee has put great efforts and we assure you excellent academic feast, please enrol yourself to avail accommodation at venue place. I am sure by now you must have received first circulate of our meeting ,for further details please visit wzusicon2015 or you may contact Dr. Jayesh Kuchadkar organizing secretary ( jaysurg@gmail ).Members willing to participate actively and have new ideas about academics are requested to send me mail at earliest so that it can be discussed in the next council meeting. 7. To increase communication among the members, we have started facebook page of our association “urology society of india-west zone”, we will put all information related zonal activity on this page. Please be the member today. Also we have initiated whats app group WZUSI.I request you to join the group. 8. We will be very happy to support regional academical activities. Members willing to organize such meetings should contact me well in advance. Council will be very happy to support good academic activities.
