Dear Valued Humane Society of Greater Kansas City Supporter / Donor / Volunteer, This year, with your help, weve accomplished some amazing things: 1. Weve almost doubled the number of pets for whom weve found loving homes. 2. Weve extended our partnership commitment with KCK Animal Control, continuing our impact to drastically increase the number of lives saved. 3. Weve helped thousands of families provide their pets with proper veterinary care who might otherwise go without – treating almost 15,000 pets in the first 9 months of the year alone, performing more than 3,600 low-cost spay / neuter surgeries. 4. Weve done dozens of outreach events across the metro area, reaching hundreds of school kids, seniors and families. 5. Weve started work on an agility yard for our shelter pets, helping to enrich their time here and enhancing their skills and self esteem. 6. Our volunteers have donated thousands of hours of their time in enrichment activities for our shelter pets, such as on-site obedience classes, and weekly pack walks. 7. Weve been instrumental in drafting new animal ordinance language to protect pets in Wyandotte county and across the metro area. In short, weve made a huge impact in this city, saving and improving thousands of lives, but at a cost. Unfortunately, our fundraising efforts to date have not been able to keep up with the demands of our increased services. We are therefore reaching out to you, our most active supporters, for help. We are making significant operational changes in order to reduce expenses wherever possible, without negatively impacting the animals in our care, but if we are not able to raise a considerable amount of money in these next few weeks, we may have to significantly curtail the services that have garnered us so many wins this year.
