Dear Valued Residents, As we prepare for the winter season we would like to share some helpful tips to winterize your home and prepare your family for the possible inclement weather. • In an effort to avoid any frozen or broken water pipes, we ask that you keep one of your faucets, such as your kitchen faucet, on a slow drip. • Please leave cabinet doors open below your kitchen and bathroom sinks to ensure they receive warmth from the air flowing through your home. • Also, be sure to keep any mechanical rooms in your home closed and secured. - • Please do not lower the thermostat below 65 Degrees when leaving for the day or an extended period of time. Due to the extremely cold weather and heaving freezing, the heat in your home must be kept on at all times. Please do not shut off the heat for any reason. Turning off your heat can cause pipes to freeze or burst and the heat furnace system to fail. • Close doors and vents in unused rooms. Keep cabinet and closet doors located on outside walls closed as they can leak air. Important Community Reminder: If snow is forecasted, we ask that all Bolling Family Housing residents parked their vehicle(s) in the designated parking space/garage and/or driveway. Please refrain from parking along the curbs to allow for effective snow plowing of the streets within your community. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this communication, please feel free to contact our office at (202) 506-2631. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation. -Bolling Family Housing-
