Dear Voters and Candidates, The City of Chicago is a world class - TopicsExpress

Dear Voters and Candidates, The City of Chicago is a world class city. Sadly, there is a lack of diversity in community based hiring and contracts. The passing of Parity Legislation on the Aldermanic Menu presented in 2010 would require contractors, upon obtaining contracts from the City of Chicago, to hire individuals based upon the racial demographic within the ward. Residential based hiring can positively affect all 50 wards within the City of Chicago. The overall quality of the community will increase, and with increased participation in local hiring initiatives such as introduced in the Parity Legislation proposal. On Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 3 pm to 7 pm, 600 East 61st Street, Chicago, we will be entertaining positions from candidates for endorsements by the Black Wall Street Districts, as they apply to their respective wards. Chicago Street Journal will follow the lead of Black Wall Street Chicago direction, regarding candidate endorsement, believing increased local hiring initiatives based upon percentage demographic to be of utmost importance to the communities served. We humbly request that you make a stand to declare that you are on board with Parity Legislation by attending yourself or sending a representative to the above meeting. Sincerely, Raymond Batts, Chair, Black Wall Street Chicago Political Advisory Committee , and Ron Carter, Chair, Black Wall Street Chicago; Publisher & Editor, Chicago Street Journal
