Dear Wasantha: Here is a full chord Dminor. It requires a bar with the 2nd finger... Initially you will find some difficulty playing this... but once you start barring it could be used right down the fret-board with other chord progressions too. There is a school of thought that the thumb has to be placed behind the the fret-board so that it is not seen from front. There is some logic in it... That will give more freedom to the other four fingers to manipulate on the frets... But I have observed many great guitarists holding the guitar with the palm... some guys even use that thumb to hit a bass note on the 6th wire now and then... What ever it is, do not change your style now... Rgds - pd
