Dear Wolf, Last week, for the first time ever, the Senate voted - TopicsExpress

Dear Wolf, Last week, for the first time ever, the Senate voted to move forward with a debate on the stalled Paycheck Fairness Act. This bill is long-overdue, and would be a big step in addressing an economic inequality that has plagued women for far too long. Republicans have blocked this common sense measure in the past. And ALL senators need to hear from their constituents that they support paycheck fairness and expect their elected officials to do the right thing. Call your senators and urge them to vote “yes” on the upcoming vote to move the Paycheck Fairness Act forward. Kelly A. Ayotte (202) 224-3324 Jeanne Shaheen (202) 224-2841 Equal pay has historically been a bipartisan issue. In 1963, thoughtful policy makers from both parties came together to pass the Equal Pay Act. But that well-meaning law has not been sufficient, as a well-documented gender pay gap still exists between those with the same qualifications doing the same work. It’s unacceptable. Tell your senators that you expect them to be genuinely committed to equal pay by voting to advance the Paycheck Fairness Act! Thank you for your activism, -- Alex Hart, Online Team.
