Dear You Guys, I need your advice. Im trying to funk up my music a little bit with some hip-hop/pop flare, and considering adding some beats to a few songs, but I want your thoughts! I really like the organic/acoustic feel, but when it comes down to it, people like a good beat, and people like rhythm. Im having someone play with adding some simple beats and such to a few songs to see how it sounds, and the one were working on now is You and Me (you remember that one, right?), and were playing with a hip-hop sort of beat, and its really fun, and adds some attitude to the song. I wouldnt necessarily be upset if my music took a more mainstream/pop/indie route (Im not talking about Katy Perry or Brittany Spears, I mean like, AWOLNATION, Santigold, or Lorde.), but right now, I cant afford a producer to make my music sound like that. All I can do (to my knowledge) is use my instruments and voice, along with some simple things in GarageBand, and then have someone add a fun beat to it. What do you think? Seriously….
