Dear Young Boy Who Wanted to Tailgate Me Today, Im sure that you saw there was another vehicle ahead of me and that my own speed was limited because of this. But when you decided to ride my tailgate anyway, I sent out a few signs that your behavior was unwelcome. Sign #1: I tapped my brakes lightly a few times in succession. When this did not work, I proceeded down my list of signs of how I communicate with tailgaters. Sign #2: I slowed down and made direct eye contact with you, checking your attitude. When you still did not back off but came in even closer and running your mouth at me, I went to the next step. Sign #3: I came to a complete stop. You could have taken this as an opportunity to go around me. There was room ahead of me now, since the car that was ahead of me had continued to travel on. But, alas, you found it best to honk your horn at me. Sign #4: Madea puts the car in park and exits the car. She wants to have a conversation with you about how your rude and imperceptive behavior is really not very becoming on such a beautiful day and that you should respect your elders and the roadways in general. The young man chose that time to finally go around me. I guess he is not a good communicator, which is obvious since he did not pick up on my early signs of dissatisfaction with his lack of driving etiquette. I didnt even look when I drove by, traveling on my way, while he was stopped at the red light. #donttailgateme #ijustwantedtotalk
