Dear Zane, Honest advice needed: my best friend since 9yrs old and I had a falling out. I honestly cant say I did anything wrong to her and uncharacteristicly she blacked out on me and just stopped speaking to me changed her number and all. Okay so her sisters ex husband has always been very nice and friendly would have never thought he was interested in me. They divorced about 2-3 yrs ago with her being the petitioner. Hes an awesome dad and was a great husband as per my bestie. Her sisters whole marriage my friend always talked about how bad the sister treated him. Anyway he started flirting with me about a 1.5yrs after the divorce. I ignored it at first but realized that I was always kind of attracted to him which was new to me because he is white. Hes a cool ass white dude tho lol... anyway... we have been talking intensely for the last 6/7 weeks and have only kissed but that damn kiss was everything. He is successful and just a genuinely good guy.... I would love to pursue something with him seriously and he seems to want the same. Am I wrong? He asked me if it wasnt for me and my friend falling out would I be entertaining him and I said yeah she isnt a factor in my feelings and I was involved in a relationship before, today I am very much single. Honest opinions please. No bashing I love my friend I would never do anything to hurt her even if we arent speaking right now. But knowing who she was I think she would have given her blessing. But not knowing her mindset today I am not so sure... help me and please keep me anonymous. By the way I love your work!!!! MY RESPONSE: I am going to keep my mouth shut on this one and read the comments. I would need more details about a lot of things to have an opinion but, on the surface, you may end up losing your best friend forever if you pursue dating him. That looks like a given. And attraction is about what is inside a man or woman and not the color of their skin. At least, it should be.
