Dear __ Respectfully, Of course those who are not working - TopicsExpress

Dear __ Respectfully, Of course those who are not working benefit from those who are but those that work today are those unemployed tomorrow. That is how the system works, that is how, one of the ways, we take care of each other socially. Those like me who dont do 9-5 jobs recently, but have many times previously, are doing their share of work, believe it and those who are working are also benefitting from my work. But if you are only talking about money and income then yes, it still works that way. PLease dont focus on those who you perceive as lazy or whatever since things change and jobs are not always findable nor keepable. I am lucky I suppose but it is the situation I and my family created over time. But I worked then and now. Who do you think cooks, preparing three meals a day four days a week, and takes care of the kids five days a week? And all that entails? MEEEEEEEE. We could have made different choices and surely made worse choices. I dont begrudge anyones interpretation of success, but maybe the Koch Brothers, and accept my choices, good and bad. I dont speak for you; I speak from my heart and from my sense of truth and from the information I have found only. _________, now please dont get it twisted; I DO know Republicans. I always have and have studied these things very closely over many decades. I am just glad to finally know many smart and compassionate democratic party voters as well. I do find mandatory health insurance to be an intelligent and modern necessity for our intelligent and modern society not less so than the other modern first-world nations. I suppose you are opposed to being forced to buy auto insurance, taxes to pay for military, infrastructure safety (roads and bridges), health standards (for food poisoning), public education, etc. What exactly is my double standard you accuse me of? I do prefer insurance and think it should be highly regulated and needed huge reform...hence the ACA! No double standard here. Your claim that our genocide and theft of the native Americans was most certainly NOT before laws, as you say. That was simply a matter of breaking all treaties (laws) and killing them like pigs. Nothing normal or necessarily inevitable about it. Just cruel and unjust and laws did follow to prevent much of that treachery later. Thanks but you are putting words into my mouth ...Come on, that is bullshit, __________. I worked damn hard from age 15- put my own ass through college to get a degree of which I am damn proud, 3000 miles away from my home and without help from family, then only stopped working a regular job- after founding and running my own company with a partner for 15 years and - and then after working serving sick folks, and I did that and so much more. I I also work doing jobs as a director of media occasionally but not because I must. I am an committed artist and founded a powerful acting workshop which produced a really good film and changed/improved folks lives, I travelled the world showing my work making media and learning more truth and about the way things are than I could have ever by staying put, I have gambled on and believe in myself and friends. I have done quite a bit, and yet only getting started. I damned sure have worked and when I stopped working full time it was only to be on call as a soon to be 43 yr old father- so please dont start on THAT. That is rather disrespectful. I work damn hard on my current film which I deeply believe in. I am a film teacher/workshop leader who can transform with these skills. And I make beautiful things. I cant judge you but will say you should not assume too much about folks and try to be humble and realize everyone has their own struggles, demons and challenges, their own crosses to bear. Until you have walked a mile in anothers shoes, best not to judge. Yea, I resent Republicans politically (but dont hate personally) because I truly feel they are ruining this country with their brand of politics. Otherwise, I would rather forget all that and just live and let live. My guess is you are at least a little bit lucky too. MY spiritual orientation helps me want less and accept more. Peace.
