Dear all, And another year has gone by... Heres a little story from one of Stephans trips in 2014. We went on a six weeks trip from Ulaan Bator to the Gobi, Lake Baikal, to Vladivostok and the Pacific Ocean. One of the things I had in mind was to finally visit the Udegeys,a small nation of far eastern people who in 1987 - after a concert in Munich- gave me as a present one of their instruments, the Ki Un Ki, which is simply a stalk that they cut in the Taiga forest, dry it and the instrument is finished. After getting to know the instrument I then created a composition combining two Ki Un Ki with seven Dilruba from India : Darkness and Light Part 2. Since that time (still Soviet era ) I had the wish to see in which surroundings these people live and especially to see the Ki Un Ki plant as it grows in the forest (see photo). So we visited their village and after almost 30 years this dream became true. Happy New Year to you all! Y.
