Dear all, I beseech you, take up the #good #fight . While the audience applauded the movie #MaryKom (as it deserved) I wept, profusely. All the while absolutely in #awe of a #spirit and a #fighter like #therealMaryKom . #PriyankaChopra #thankyou this movie NEEDED to be made. As I go through condescending statuses against #Mangalyaan , fighting for and against #DeePikaPadukone and #TOI I am heartbroken that there things around us that #thepowerofone can change for the better but all we do is tear down those who give their best. #shame I reached #state and #national #level in many a sport in this amazing country, being taught by motivating coaches in private schools and colleges and I wonder had I had the proper backing, naaaah thats too much, just a little faith from the Government led sports federations, I might have pursued a sport as a career. We have praised the film, and moved on and yet the despicable treatment of athletes in this country, shown loud and clear on the #silverscreen is already a thing of the past. We slept in classrooms for state level basketball, I remember and I see medal winning athletes being treated no better even today. So I implore you all, to take up such fights. Help the maid whose FIR for domestic abuse is not written; the house help that is pushed around by greedy government officials; the athletes who just need encouragement, diet and proper use of the facilities that are perhaps a little improved from my time. Sponsor an athlete; help take away caste, State and colour oriented bias by officials in charge who have probably never even run a 100mts in their lives; Teach your children to be simply proud #Indians ... Mary Kom I salute you.... You are #inspirational and I can only hope to be a teeny bit of a fighter like you, in my life, henceforth.
