Dear all It is with great regret that we, from GNLU Legal Service Committee and GNLU Critique Cinephile, have to inform you that Cinématique 14 which was going to be organized on 20th July 2014 on campus has been cancelled. This sudden and unpleasant decision has been taken by respected Director keeping in view the fact that students have been showing a lax attitude towards official events such as Republic Day celebration, Convocation, Independence Day celebrations etc as was evidenced by the late turn up by the students on Foundation Day. We tried all channels of communication to the Director to make him rethink his decision, bringing into his notice the irreparable damage which would be caused to the reputation of the college by cancelling the event of this magnitude. However, as the Director was unavailable, we knocked the doors of the Registrar who made it very clear to us that there was no ray of hope for Cinématique 14 . Moreover, events of such nature, which bear a student initiative will be cancelled till the time the students convince the Director of their commitment towards official events, one way of doing which is being punctual and turning up in high numbers on Independence Day celebration next month. Therefore, even as the message of cancellation is being circulated around the city and an apology being printed in Ahmedabad Mirror, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude towards Saurabh Sir and Nunes Sir for all their efforts and undying support. Also a big THANK YOU to the student body for showing such help and enthusiasm. We shall try our level best to keep the idea behind Cinématique alive and return even bigger and better. Lights. Camera.
