Dear all, These are fresh from the oven - just want to share some comments from my participants........the beautiful children and people who have been with me in Smart Trends journey since 13 years back.......and now will be with us to launch SmartLifeSkills........We GROW with YOU TESTIMONIES My name is Darshan Thayalan. I am 16. I study in a well-known government school called SMK Permata. Regarding the Smart Trends Programs, to me it was one of the best program that I have ever been too. Back then, I attended this program when I was 12, when this program was known as the “Yes, I Can” program. Among the main reasons are, that leadership skills are enhanced, mental capabilities are stretched, many outdoor and indoor activities were carried out where each member takes turns to become a leader. This is good in a way that no comrades are left behind thus providing each and everyone a chance to show their potential. Not only that, activities such as Sudoku, note-taking, tangram, tarantula and many more were played where our brains were put to the test. Many inspirational and experienced speakers helped me to set goals in my life. Due to that, I was able to choose a proper secondary school where my friends there would help me no matter what. Moreover, SMK Sri Permata is also known as one of the best schools in Asia especially in debating. Furthermore, the values that I have learnt and combine with them have made various achievements to whom I am right now. These values were so influential that made me to be the Head in my school squad B Prefectorial Board and Vice President of my Christian Fellowship club. These achievements will help me a lot in my scholarship in the future. Not just that, but many more. With all that, I will strongly advice you guys to join this Smart Life Skills Program. If it got me this far, who knows how far it could bring you. You guys would be able to achieve far beyond that. With this opportunity I would also like to give a big thanks and a warm hug to these people Ms. Claire, Mr. Mervyn and my mom Christine and my dad Thayalan who had stood by my side no matter what the situation is. Without these people, my life would have been a boring and disappointing life without a live wire. I also thank God for his grace in blessing these wonderful people to mould me. Once again, thank you very much. Darshan Thayalan 16 years old I joined a camp that was organised by Smart Trends when I was in standard 6. I cant deny it was such a wonderful experience and it has given me a big impact in my life. All of the activities acquired me to speak and communicate with other people and this has increased my confidence level in using English with others. Since I am not a native speaker of English, I used to be quiet when people around me were using the language. But then, since I attended the camp, I started to feel the fun of using English when talking to people. Now, Im studying at Centre for Foundation Studies of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), taking Bachelor in English Literature and Linguistics and now English is a part of my life. Attending the camp also has made me learnt to speak well with people that I am not familiar with and this skills helped me a lot during my interview when I was going to be one of the students representative in my campus. I guess, I am so grateful that I did well during the interview as now I am selected as the Vice President 1 of the Students Representative. I am sharing all these in order to convince you to join camps that are organised by Smart Trends as they will definitely give you a huge positive impact in your whole life. Ive attended numerous camps with Smart Trends since primary school. Each camp they offer is packed with promising results, and my parents and I have never been left disappointed. Smart Trends offers holistic-oriented camps that work on who you are from the inside, which will then show on the outside. I love every activity they have planned, and I still remember it even after all these years! The same goes for the friends Ive made, as we still do keep in touch. The age factor is never a problem, as Smart Trends fosters a family-oriented environment and everybody helps each other out. Smart Trends has helped me to be a better person, and I am thankful for that! Alyssa J. Oon 19 years old I am simply thrilled with your love to share your smart skill know-how with others, especially children. You saw their needs, and wish to impact them when young, that such skills will grow with them in the years ahead. I first met Claire and Judy about 2 years ago and together with my group of children had 3 days together at Eight Acres, a holiday resort. I was amazed at the way she shared her time with the children, to her every child is an individual that needs attention, she saw their weakness and tap into their hidden strength. One thing I noticed she stresses upon, UNITY IN TEAMWORK and before we left for home, the children were happy cos they have learned well and a great camp for them. By the way, our children are from a Home where orphans, abused and under privileged children stay and grow together.
