Dear all concerned: With the support of the Cambodian government and the civil aviation authority, and after more than a years preparation, the Apsara groups A320 inaugural flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap took place on 8th October 2014. The second step was flights from Siem Reap to Krabi commencing on the 27th October. Since its inception Apsara Air has been committed to being Cambodias own airline and aims to develop Cambodias inter-urban transportation network. With Siem Reap as its headquarters it aims to establish an East Asian, South Asian and South-East Asian transportation network with the goal of encouraging good relations with our near neighbours. The setting up of Apsaras Phnom Penh - Siem Reap round trip flight led to a major price reductions. Nearly 10,000 passengers have been transported including many elderly people who have now taken their first flight. Within a month it had gained public and passenger approval. However the long term plans of the company are to open routes between Cambodia and many of Chinas major cities. To allow more time for the development of these routes there will be a temporary suspension of domestic flights from 1st November 2014. Apsara Air would like to thank the Government and people of Cambodia for their help and support and would like to continue to cooperate with the Cambodian government at all levels, so working together to overcome all the problems arising from the pre-operation phase of the companies development. Apsara Air is sure that it can make a great contribution to the development of civil aviation in Cambodia and help develop a better future.
