Dear angel and VC friends, I will no longer accept your public gestures of support for women and minority founders as ACTUAL support for women and minority founders if its not backed up by action. To be really clear, risking carpel tunnel syndrome on blog posts, likes, shares and retweets is not the risk I know youre capable of. Looking awesome on a panel at a conference declaring your support for marginalized people is also an empty gesture on its own. Taking meetings. Writing checks. Opening doors. Making intros. This is what defines your sincerity in changing the ratio. Everything else is just noise to me. If its a matter of not enough women or minorities in your deal flow pipeline, I will find you the deal flow. Just ask. And to those of you who are taking action, thank you. I see you. You have my back. My network is your network. Heres to an amazing 2015 of supporting each other.
