Dear beloved community. I remember when I first walked into this incredible building. It was empty. My voice echoed in its vacant rooms. It took my breath away. Six years later, almost to the day, I still love every nook and cranny of this beautiful property. Its no longer empty. The rooms are no longer vacant, and the only echos are the sounds of the children. It still takes my breath away. As of this afternoon, this beautiful property is ours. No one can raise our rent. No one can buy it from under us. With the help of some of the most generous and altruistic people I have ever known, Golestans future is now secured. Thank you, Laurie Capitelli for your tireless commitment and incredible generosity to Golestan. Thank you, Bita Daryabari and the Abbaszadeh family for bringing our Capital Campaign to a whole new level and enabling it to gain the momentum we desperately needed to close. Thank you Golestan Board, GCA, and Capital Campaign committees for your incredible dedication to our cause. Thank you friends and families of Golestan for all your generosity - from $1 to $10,000, every gift brought us closer to our goal. And finally, thank you Neda Nobari Foundation for loaning us the $1,000,000 interest-free, and for giving us a short term secondary loan to cover the funds we werent able to raise before closing today. We are committed to raising the additional $150,000 we need to reimburse the foundation as soon as possible. But for now, lets relish the fact that what was once a crazy pipe dream is now a reality.
