Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Earlier, I posted an accusation that was based on a very flawed inference - that Doug had been the one to remove an entire thread of conversation in some fit of despotic leadership. I was wrong - both in my judgment and in the tone in which I accused him. For that, I apologized to him. But I also need to apologize to this group as well. Not necessarily for my passion, but rather for my acting towards yall as the world would. It is no coincidence that I just started a detailed re-reading of Pauls letter to the Corinthian church just a couple of days ago. I believe that he is consistent and deeply concerned about the unity of the body of Christ - and takes great pains to call that body to accept one another and to live lives of holiness that set them apart from non-believers. Thus, even if my arguments are right, they are too frequently not framed in terms of this unity. For that, I am also sorry. I also need to apologize specifically to Wesley Putnam - I lost my temper and allowed my emotion to dominate the points I was trying to make and, in doing so, treated a brother poorly. Wesley - I am truly sorry. Looking back in that thread, I can also see the Spirit at work in Jeff Grahams comments - a call to step back, reconsider, regroup, and repent. I am sorry for missing that call and sorry that I mistook Jeffs comments as attacks. Going forward, I hope to be a more positive contributor to this group, taking Pauls exhortation and admonishment very seriously. I will not be any less passionate about the gospel of Christ, but I will do my best to consider my audience before allowing my fingers free rein on the keyboard. May this group be characterized by grace and peace, and not shrink from the difficulties we face. And may all of our 2,000+ voices be heard in the conversation! Yours in Him, Robert Hulse
