Dear closeted comedians, If you do not want to be publicly identified as gay, that is totally cool, have a good time. That said, maybe you should not say things about gay people/play gay people if you are actively trying to distance yourself from gay people. Lets say you are gay but have a track on your comedy album assuring everyone how not gay you are, maybe you shouldnt constantly be playing gay people in sketches. It might feel to some gay people like you are harping on the worst, most tired, most self-hating stereotypes of being gay without actually having the integrity and courage to deal with the public scrutiny that comes with actually admitting you belong to our accursed, delightful little culture.
