Dear college students, when submitting resumes to a potential - TopicsExpress

Dear college students, when submitting resumes to a potential employer and building a LinkedIn page for the first time, please consider these three helpful tips: 1. The email address you have had since you were 18, should probably be changed unless it is something generic like your first and last name. Email addresses that begin with prettycutegirl or drinkinwitmybudz is not something an employer considers professional. 2. No selfie photos for your LinkedIn profile. Why not? Well, it could say three primary things about you - 1. You think way too much of yourself, 2. You have no friends, or 3. you cant afford to pay to have a nice picture taken. All of those are not qualities an employer is looking for. 3. For the love of everything, have someone who is proficient in the english language complete a spell and grammar check of your resume. An employer may like who you claim to be on paper, but if they have to read it over and over again just to figure it out, that resume goes in the trash. Very truly yours, An employer who still has faith in your generation
